Karia Severude ~ Youth Support Specialist
Karia joined the OISYS team June of 2019 all the way from Barron, WI. She brought with her a Bachelor's Degree in Human Development and Family studies and a well-rounded background working with children from a wide variety of social and economic upbringings. Before joining the O-I-See team, Karia worked in the Special Education Department of the Barron WI school district as well as serving as an assistant program coordinator in the Barron County Birth to Three Program. In this program, Karia worked with both children and parents in order to guide and encourage growth and development. Her experiences have helped her understand the importance of meeting youth where they are at on their journey, through all ups and downs.
Karia's greatest desire is to help individual youth reach his or her best potential for success. She understands that a person's past doesn't always define who they are, or who they will grow to be. Everyone deserves a chance, and it is Karia's hope that she can affect positive change in the life of everyone she works with.
In her free time, Karia enjoys watching sports and exploring outdoor hobbies such as golf. She is an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, and the Wisconsin Badgers. She is excited to expand her work with the youth in the area, and to learn more about what the kids are enjoying these days. When she is not working with youth or on the golf course, she can usually be found visiting with her friends and family.
